Any thread update? Same question v/v necss870, except now it's win7. I'm really dense; went fm win98 to win7! I have the paralell to usb but when I tried above procedure I couldn't get past which port to select. I need it really simple and really specific. Thanks, Roy.

Any update to this thread? Esp Brad’s question v/v “what to do with it.” I’m a novice as you can tell. H/E I’m going fm W98 straight to vista so do not have the xp disks, etc. I do know that my ss870 is still a super printer and I hate to loose its capabilities. Any help appreciated, esp a really simple yet comprehensive procedure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Great information and article and I didn’t think this a big deal until I printed some items from an old Windows 98 machine in 600 dpi. The small print was much easier to read.

Oh THANK god! haha this works like a dream. I had to buy a usb to parallel cable off another site to connect it to my comp, which does mean you must select usb as the printer port. But it works!!

Hes right, it doesnt print as pretty, but its all there in black and white!
